Week Thirteen, Day Two and a Positive Experience

I had a nice experience that I thought I'd share tonight on this blog. While passing a co-worker in the hallway, she stopped me to say that she had lost 5 pounds. We both high-fived and I congratulated her. She told me that if anyone would understand about that, it would be me. She does follow my blog, so yay for her and anyone else out there who has reached a goal- big or small. You are always free to share it on this blog (just go under anonymous if you don't have an account) or on my Facebook page.

I've also been thinking about how things happen for a reason. All the trials and tribulations that we go through help us out in life one way or another. I can say that I've seen life from both sides now. I've been skinny or average most of my life, but I've spent the last five to six years overweight or just slightly over the obese line. I used to say to myself when I was younger and thinner that there was no way I'd ever let myself go and gain a bunch of weight. Weight gain can happen to anyone at any time. For me, it had to do with not dealing with stress and emotions like I should have. I ate my way through feeling comfortable and tried to make myself feel happy. I'm truly happy with where I am in life, and I think that helps in being prepared to take on such a life change as losing weight. This experience will help me to be more mindful of how I treat my body in relation to food and exercise. Once the weight is off, I am not going back through this process again.

I also had half a Reese Pieces cookie from the lounge.

I made this pizza and it still fits into my eating plan. It is a 100% whole wheat crust, spaghetti sauce, WW Italian blend cheese, lean ground beef, and green peppers. I also had 1/2 a cup of mixed veggies with it. Very yummy!
