Surprise

Saturday morning started with another healthy egg wrap and banana for breakfast.

I found these surprises outside in the flowers beds this morning as well. They are called surprise lilies, hence my bad joke.

Then I paid a couple of bills and went to the grocery store to stock up on some healthy items to get me through the week. I spent the rest of the morning taking some of the old hardware from the upstairs bathroom we are renovating and installing it in the downstairs bathroom.

I stopped to have a healthy PB&J for lunch.

The afternoon was spent sanding the walls in the bathroom again. We also took down the tub surround and old tub/shower fixtures. My hubby scraped the old construction adhesive off of the wall while I emptied out the linen closet. We are going to need to go through here to check out the plumbing and install new fixtures. The plumbing is not so easily replaced with new handles as I was hoping it would be. The whole unit is welded together and that whole wood panel in the second picture will have to come out to access it. Now we will have to buy more expensive fixtures as well. Another surprise, but not as nice as the lilies this morning. 

There was a bad thunderstorm this afternoon, but we managed not to lose power this time. It is nice that I can keep my food and not have to throw it out after the electric is off for 8 hours after another thunderstorm this summer. I've already had to do that twice!

I took this one after the rain just to show all the big tree branches that were down.

The hubs and I (well mostly the hubs) cooked dinner last night. We had some chicken and made basically homemade potato chips. I added a salad to my meal as well.
