Yesterday was Grandparents and Special People Night at the school where I work. The PTO is in charge of this, and the president of the PTO asked me if I could teach the students some songs to sing for this event. I said yes, so I was very busy last night. I have taken time out of just about every class for the past two months to work on three songs with each group (the first and second grades went together and the third and fourth grades went together). The past few years hasn't had the best turn out for PTO meetings and events, so I wasn't sure what to expect. We ended up with a HUGE turnout. My stage was crowded and running out of room for the students. The bleachers were full and people were standing up to watch the performance. The PTO had a bake sale, picture taking, and a craft for the students to do after the music performance. The crowd liked the songs, and I got lots of compliments from the grandparents and parents that came. The PTO even bought me a gorgeous bouquet of flowers to say thank you. I was almost in tears by this point. I usually don't get thanked for doing things like this. I forgot to bring a vase to school to put them in, but hopefully I remember to tomorrow. I will post a picture once I get them in a vase.
My food intake has been mostly good, but I did make some bad decisions when I got stressed out with this performance. My meals have been good. I've had a lot of Subway, baked chips, Egg McMuffins, etc. My snacking when I get nervous usually is my downfall. I've had too many rice crispy treats, cookies, and I even ate a couple of candy bars. I'm ready to get back with it tomorrow. I still have a chance of a little weight loss this week if I can keep myself on track this weekend.
