Week Twenty-Four and a Piano Lesson

I gave my first piano lesson today (the one I was talking about starting back in November). It went really well too. The girl seems to really want lessons and has a talent for music. I gave her four songs to take home today. They were pretty short and one hand at time since it was her first lesson ever, but I did find a Christmas song for her. She was happy with it and her mom liked hearing her play it- Jolly Old St. Nicholas.

That piano lesson saved me from wanting to bang my head against a wall or cry when the school day was done. I had some good classes and some fun times with Christmas or holiday songs, but the behavior is on the downward spiral of Christmas break is almost here mentality. I love my job and I look for the positive in those moments when it is just about learning about, making, and sharing music. I try to just forget the rest at the end of the day. The piano lesson helped me to forget about the negative from the day.

Eating has gone pretty well today. I was pretty tired mentally when I got home and didn't feel like moving at all. My exercise for the day is going to be mopping the water seeping in the through the basement from all the rain today. That and maybe moving some of the stuff laying all over the place from the plumbing disaster a while back. I still haven't cleaned that up either. I don't want whatever is laying on the floor to get ruined from the water coming in.
