Shopping and Walking

It is Friday, the last "official" day of my spring break from work. I'm happy to say that I'm spending it in a way that is fun and will burn lots of calories- shopping at the outlet mall. The outlet mall we (that is my friend Christine and me) are going to is the Lighthouse Place and it is in Michigan City (here is a link if you want to see the stores).

My comfortable and cute shopping outfit.

My accessories for the day.
We met up around ten and drove over together. I've spent a lot of time lately busy with work or at home working on things around the house, so it was nice to have someone else to talk to for a little bit. We parked at one end of the mall and walked around to every store. We didn't go in every store, but we walked past every single one, so I definitely burned more calories than usual.

I may or may not be guilty of eating this while driving to meet Christine.
We stopped at a little candy store and restaurant for lunch at noon. We split a deluxe turkey sandwich. It came with chips or pretzels, but I only ate like two or three of them. The 1/2 sandwich and diet Mt. Dew was filling enough for a meal.

After that was a few more hours of shopping. I don't think we left until 3:15ish. I didn't end up buying much, but I found a few great deals. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but I did buy a size down for the clothes that I did buy. I also bought a lot of accessories. I found a pair of Sketchers that I fell in love with, but they were still $50 which is a bit steep for me right now. I'm hoping that maybe they will have them at Shoe Carnival and I will wait for a sale and a coupon.

My finds from Old Navy- $11 for the jeans, $3.47 for the Chicago shirt, and $7 for the Beatles shirt. All items are one size smaller than what I wear now.

I've wanted to have some feathers to wear for a while, and found these for what I thought were $2.98 a piece. They rung up as $0.75 a piece! The one on the right is pretty much an exact match to my hair color too.

Some earrings I got for a $1 a pair from Claire's.

Another $1 item from Claire's.

And even more $1 items from Claire's.
On the way home from the mall, we stopped at a cute little store that is in an old schoolhouse appropriately called The Schoolhouse Shop (here is a link if you would like to see the store). The prices were really high, but they had neat things. I guess it is a store for the people with million dollar houses in Beverly Shores. You would have to have a lot of money to shop in a place like this if an article of clothing normally costs above $200.

When we got back to our meeting spot in Valpo, we did a quick run through of Pier 1 and Marshalls. Neither of us found anything we wanted though.
