What I've Been Up to Lately...

I know it has been a long time since the last post. It isn't because I'm doing horrible on the weight loss front, but I've been super busy and then super burned out. Here is a recap of what has been going on with me.

  • Friday was the day of my Spring Music Program at work. I held "dress rehearsals" all day where other classes that weren't performing at the minute could come and watch the kids performing. I did one of those for each first, second, third, and fourth grades. The only classes I taught in my classroom were my two kindergarten classes at the end of the day. I went home, ate, changed, and showered then headed back to work for the real program. I was there from 5:30-8:30. It ended up working out very well thanks to my fellow co-workers who helped to line the kids up, hand out props, run the CD player, get the kids off of the stage, collect donations to buy more things for next year's program, etc. I was even surprised by a third grade class and the PTO (since the program was part of their Family Fun Night) with a bouquet of flowers! It was such a great night and I was feeling tired, relieved, and content when it was all over.

  • Saturday was the Little 500 go-kart race at St. Joseph's College (which I usually call the Joe or St. Joe). That is my alma mater and some of my friends were going to "watch" the race. I decided that I needed some fun, so I went too. I say "watch" because we really didn't watch much at all. My friends hit up the beer and brat tent and we talked for a while. We also visited the bookstore where I bought a new lanyard that is pink and black and a sweatshirt. When we were done on campus, we went to a friend's house (she lives in town) and had a cookout and sat around a fire pit the rest of the night. I ate horribly that night- two hamburgers on white bread buns and tons of potato chips. It was worth it though and I can't wait to see them again.

  • Sunday I went grocery shopping and mowed the yard. Nothing exciting, but I was so tired after everything going on that I vegetated in front of the TV all afternoon and night. It didn't help that my stomach was hurting as well.
  • Monday I stayed home from work. I slept in until 8:30 minus the time to take the dogs out and feed them at 5:00. I then browsed the internet all morning, watched some TV, and went to the dentist. The highlight of my day was the new episode of House. Only four more episodes and Wilson has cancer and might die! I don't want the show to end!
  • Tuesday was a typical work day. After work I went to stock up on rice crispy squares and fruit snacks for my students at work. I also stopped at a bookstore to find some books for my literacy music lesson plans. I found Puff, the Magic Dragon and Down by the Bay in store and had to order Old Black Fly.
I will hopefully be back with another post soon that actually discusses food, working out, and other weight loss things! It just depends how long I get on the computer tonight before the hubby takes it over.
