It was teacher appreciation week. The teachers at my school were thanked with a breakfast on Monday (with food still lingering in the lounge until Wednesdayish) and a Chick-Fil-A lunch on Thursday. We also had other non-food goodies throughout the week such as massages, notepads, gift cards, etc.
Wednesday I went to a retirement party for a fellow elementary music teacher in my corporation. They had the event at a steakhouse. I don't eat read meat, so I ended up with a grilled chicken salad and some bread.

Thursday our team (the specials- gym, music (that's me!) and library) had a wedding shower for the art teacher (the last of our team). I was lucky that I ended up with paper products, the invitations, and the gift from our group. The gym teacher (a male) did all of the cooking. He made a cheese and cracker tray, cream cheese rolls, tuna salad, a veggie tray, and bought chocolate eclairs instead of a cake. (Although we all love Costco cake, it would've been the third one that week!) The shower went really well and she was so surprised with all the nice gifts and the shower itself.

On Saturday my hubby and I had friends from out of town over, so we went out to eat at Don Pablo's. My hubby and I split an order of fajitas for two. It was way too much food for me, but I'm sure that I ate more than I probably should have.

Today is Mother's Day, so I went to visit my mom and give her a gift. I brought a salad and my sister made pizza and chocolate chip cookies. It was a nice day with my family, but once again I was eating what I shouldn't eat. When I was done at my mom's, I went over to my grandparents to visit them since they live next door.

As for the other days this week without celebrations in which you eat stuff, the eating right has been a toss up. There have been good days and some bad days. I have made sure to walk my 8,000 steps a day for the walking challenge at work though. My plan is to get back on track like I have been for the several weeks before this one. I want to be 185 (or less) by the time I walk out of school on the last teacher day which is May 31st.
