One Week Challenge- Day One and Classroom Decorating

Today is the first day of my one week challenge. I'm focusing on each day as a mini challenge to get through. I need to work on rebuilding the good habits that I let fall by the wayside. In preparation for this challenge, I went through my closet again to take out clothes that look too tight on me and I wouldn't wear. That doesn't leave me with much, but it is only 14 days until school starts and I'll mostly be wearing dress clothes or pajamas.

Here is the official weigh in for day one of the challenge:

I noticed that the scale is a little dusty and I need to use a different setting on my camera so there isn't so much glare on the screen. If you can't read it, it says 196.4.

I also prepared myself for my jog in the morning with setting out my clothes and gadgets the night before.

My C25K training says to jog for 28 minutes this week. I made myself a new play list with mostly '90's music and a song or two from the 2000's. Here is the play list:
  • Let Down by Radiohead (warm-up)
  • Little Miss Can't Be Wrong by Spin Doctors
  • I'm Only Happy When It Rains by Garbage
  • Save Tonight by Eagle Eye Cherry
  • Zephyr Song by Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • Side by Travis
  • Longview by Green Day
  • Home by Collective Soul
  • Full Circle by Aerosmith (cool-down)
My stats for Monday's jog:
  • 5,359 aerobic steps
  • 38 minutes
  • 2.23 miles
After jogging I went over to my FIL's house to use the shower. Our shower is completely ripped out, so I can't wait for this bathroom reno to be done. I guess having a nice bathroom is more important to me as a woman than to many men. My FIL had two products in his shower: shampoo and a bar of soap. I'm traveling with a huge bag with my face scrubber and pads, acne body wash, regular body wash, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, a razor, foot scrub, and a body pouf.

I spent a few hours in the classroom yesterday trying to get more decorating done. Decorating is the fun part. Soon it will be on to concert planning, lesson plans, organizing a messy drawer or cabinet which isn't quite so fun. Here are some pics of what I did last time and today:
My $2 garage sale lamp before.

My garage sale lamp with a few more dollars spent on it.

I used some leftover vellum and stickers to make a matching jar to put my hard candies in at my desk.

A display in my office of the many musical things I've received as gifts throughout the years.

My desk area with the new memo board, picture frames (which I know still need pics in them), remade lamp, and other fun stuff.

I added the pink display bars above the peace sign mirrors I already had up.

My desk area again.

The right hand side of my white board with the new HSM board I got for $1.99 at Bailey's.

The left side of my white board with my individual behavior system.

My big bulletin board in my classroom.

The left side of the bulletin board with my instrument rules.

It is a little hard to see in this picture, but this is my question of the day board with a picture of MJ underneath it.

The right side of the bulletin board where the other new HSM board is hung and where pictures of my students performing will go.

Already had these up on a wall that seem kinda blank.

Today I cut the valences to size that I found for $1 at Wally World. I will put one in the window to the hallway and the window to my office. I still need to steam the wrinkles out of them.

I got home around 2:00 and took care of five doxies for a while. I later mowed the yard which maybe wasn't the smartest idea since I jogged in the morning. My legs and knees were tired and sore! I finished off my night by watching Love It or List It on HGTV while eating an oatmeal breakfast cookie.

I am proud of how I did following my meal plan. It isn't exactly like I planned in this blog, but it is pretty close.
