Take Out the Papers and the Trash...

If you don't know those songs lyrics, it is from "Yakety Yak" by The Coasters. It fits for my day today, because I've been doing errands and chores almost all day. If you have never heard the song, or maybe you like it and would like to hear it, here is a link to a YouTube video with the song.

As for the whole weight loss thing... Today I weighed in at 189 which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I've been off track since the end of the school year in May. Then I went on vacation right away (there will be more posts about that to come). I was back for two days (which I used to get ready for a garage sale) and then left for a mini vacation with my Aunt Susie to see Roger Waters perform The Wall at Wrigley Field (There will be a separate post for that too!). I was finally back home for good this Saturday evening. Sunday I spent grocery shopping and running errands. I finally feel that now I can regain my focus on losing weight, eating right, and working out.

Sunday night I spent some time rereading my Six Week Body Makeover eating plan. I know it pretty well, but thought that since I've been off track so long it would do me good. I also need to work on an exercise plan. Until I get one written up, my focus is to keep busy and moving. I will also focus on healthier meals and finish eating whatever snacks I have in the house before working on better snacks.

I cooked my healthier version of pizza today for lunches this week.

It has turkey pepperoni, green peppers and red onions as toppings. Yummy!
As for all the chores I did today, here are some pictures to recapture my productiveness today:

Paid the bills

My cleaned out fridge

Take out the trash

Did some laundry with the help of the sun

Got some new mousse to try to recreate the wavy look I had when I got my hair cut

Picked up Boo from my father-in-law's house to dog sit during the day today

I also picked up her playmate Peter (the black and tan one)

I wrapped my Father's Day presents (there are two for my dad because one is a birthday present)

I went through made a list and organized my presents box. I like to buy things on sale or if I see something that looks like someone and save them for a holiday. It makes it so much easier and I save a ton of money.

What the presents box looked like after I organized it

I also organized my closet in my Kami room in the basement

I cleared off all my husband's stuff from the dining table and put it away

My Sunday of Dishes and Laundry

I started Sunday by sleeping until 8:00. That usually never happens because my dogs get me up between 5:00-5:30. Then I surfed the Internet and wrote my first post in a long time. The rest of the morning was spent cleaning up the kitchen and doing some dishes.

Yes I have a dishwasher, but it was full and I wanted to get all of the dishes done. I had to bite the bullet and wash by hand too.
I went to Red Lobster with my husband and father-in-law for lunch and got my usual Tilapia.

The afternoon was spent finishing up the dishes I started in the morning and doing laundry. It was 95ish degrees, so it was a perfect day to hang laundry outside to dry.

My hubby and I also clipped the dogs nails and tried to do some more hair cutting. Lilly's tail is really badly done, because she decided to squirm around mid-cut and my hubby didn't stop. Hopefully all this dog grooming can get finished on Monday.

Sunday evening was spent going on a walk and watching some Holmes Inspection. I'm a HGTV and DIY network junkie. Basically all I watch besides singing shows and What Not to Wear is home improvement and real estate shows.

Food for the Day

Believe it or not, this meal is under 500 calories. It is a small Strawberry Delight smoothie and an Iron Grilled Turkey Sandwich. Get it without mayo and bacon to make it under 500 calories.

I also may or may not have had some candy as I was watching Holmes Inspection...

Easter 2012

Today I was up just a slight bit, about 1/2 a pound, but I expect that after eating too many chips and eating out for dinner. Today is a challenge as well, since I am having two big meals.

I spent the morning getting ready, taking care of the doggies, and get some Easter presents around for my family. I usually wait for things to go on sale and save them until the next year, so I save money and already have everything I need. I just wrap, and I' m set to go. No one is ever too old for for an Easter basket! Here is my outfit for the day (both pieces are from Kohl's and I love them).

I also gave my husband his Easter present before leaving to see my family for lunch.

I had lunch with my mom, dad, sister, niece, and brother-in-law. We weren't very traditional in our food choices. My mom had some ham steaks she could cook up, but no one wanted them. Instead there were stuffed green peppers, potatoes, salad, corn, green beans, rolls, and a vegetable and fruit tray. I filled myself up on so much baby carrots and a few pieces of cheese, that I could barely eat what was on my plate.

I ended up having more than one of these throughout the afternoon...

After lunch we opened our Easter baskets. Us older folk are not so cute with that, but my two and a half year old niece sure is.

Here is what I got from my dad.

Here is what my mom gave me.

After cleaning up, we ended up hanging out outside for a while before I left. My niece threw and kicked her Disney princess ball I gave her, walked around the yard, and gave the dog some treats.

When I got home, my husband was grilling out for us and his dad. He made our usual favorites- chicken kebabs, potatoes and onions, and asparagus (their favorite- not mine).

My plate for dinner.
My husband had a friend for the second half of his dinner. Peter (my father-in-law's dog) just jumped right up in the chair behind my hubby and stayed there. He didn't even try to eat anything.
I hope that everyone had a great Easter and here is to getting back on track for the rest of us people in weight loss land.

Haunted by Cupcakes

Last night I did some doxie sitting for my father-in-law, so I had the joy of five miniature long haired dachshunds. They are used to visiting each other's houses and used to staying with my husband, my father-in-law, and me. It was very interesting to squeeze five dogs into bed. Three is usually enough considering we have a only a full size bed.

Today was the last day of work before spring break! Our spring break was late this year, so I'm happy that it finally arrived. There seemed to be temptation lurking in several places at work today. There were coffee cakes in the lounge. I took two bites around 10:00 and had a small piece with my lunch. Also, I got confronted with another cupcake. A first grade girl with a birthday today. She didn't even ask. She's like here you go and handed it to me.

I did the same thing as yesterday and ate about three bites and threw the rest out.

Most of my workout tonight (I also did 12 minutes on the mini stepper during commercial breaks on American Idol.) was helping my husband cover his strawberries with straw, because it is supposed to get close to or below freezing tonight. We've been spoiled by the '80's and reality is hitting us tonight.

The ones in the picture aren't even the one I had! I had the turkey wraps.

I ended up having two mini burgers, but at least they are only 200 calories a piece.
