Stupid pain in the... face?

The plan is to officially start blogging food and exercise tomorrow following the SWBM. I have hit a bump in the road before even beginning. I have had terrible jaw pain this morning to the point of tears. I have maxillofacial pain syndrome. It is a fancy way of saying horrible pain due to overuse of the muscles in the face. It is just like hurting any other muscle. I've been to a specialist for this before so it is back to the plan of pain relievers, icing with my roller ball (awesome for pain!), wearing my splint 24/7, and stretching exercises. The part that stumps me is how I aggravated it in the first place. I am a musician and music teacher, so I know playing my flute, singing, or talking too much can cause a flare up. It is the middle of summer so no teaching, and I haven't picked up my flute for months. Oh well...

I found a couple of websites with awesome smoothie ideas and recipes, so I'll just have to modify what I was planning to eat for now. It hurts to chew, so I'll make up some homemade smoothies with fruit, vegetables, yogurt, nuts, etc. to hit most of the food groups. On the SWBM, I am supposed to eat meat or protein (chicken, turkey, fish, egg whites)  five times a day. I am worried about that part of it, but I guess it is what it is for now.
