Week Twenty-One, The Weekend

I had a lot of fun this past weekend, and as you can tell, I kept busy enough not to have time for blogging. I'm once again kicking myself for not taking pictures of some of the food and fun, but I'll try to describe it on here in words I guess.

Friday my husband made a healthy Thanksgiving dinner for me, him, and his dad. He made 100% whole wheat bread, turkey breast, 100% whole wheat stuffing, broccoli, onions, carrots, and baked apples with almonds for dessert. It was yummy! I also went to Kohl's that morning to see if there were any black Friday deals on something I could use my birthday gift card on. I ended up finding something that I'm quite happy about. A new record player that can also hook up to my computer via USB, so I can record my records and put them on my iPod. I'm so happy to be playing records again! I also did a bunch of yard work this day and my husband had a few friends over. Busy and fun day.

Some leftovers from the great meal Andrew made.

A leftover acorn squash.

A leftover apple.

My new record player!

Saturday I had my Thanksmas party with my St. Joe friends. We decided to have one get together between Thanksgiving and Christmas to make things easier on everyone. We had all the usual holiday food such as ham, mac and cheese, potatoes, green beans, etc. I did well on the regular food part, but ate too many desserts. There were rice crispy squares and these oatmeal, cranberry, and white chocolate brownies. I let myself go a bit that day, but I didn't eat much all day and stayed up way later than usual (that kinda balances it out...). We had a gift exchange and I got a wonderful candle and little Christmas sign. We also played some games- Singstar Country, Rocks, and '90's, Mad Libs, and Trivial Pursuit Pop. I'm so glad we were able to get together and so close to my birthday!

Sunday wasn't quite so fun. I had a bunch of stuff to do for work (which I'm still trying to catch up on when I can). I didn't sleep well the night before, so I ended up taking a nap most of the afternoon to recover.
