My Week of Doing 7/16 - 7/18

I know it has been a small while since I posted, but I really meant what I said by my getting up and doing something. It has kept me busy this week, so that is why the posts are lacking.

I began Monday with a wog as mentioned in this post, but haven't written about anything else I've done this week.

I decided something to get up and do Monday afternoon was to start my bathroom renovation by tearing down the seashell wallpaper. It has bothered me since we first looked at the house and I knew it would be coming down some day. It is the last bit of wallpaper in the house too! I got about half down on Monday afternoon and the other half on Tuesday. I left a small moldy section to deal with later this week. The process with this wallpaper was quite easy. I first ripped off the actual paper part with the design. Many times it came off in whole sheets. Then I used hot water and vinegar (I'm sure that hot water by itself would've worked with this stuff) to soak the adhesive left on the wall. I used a plastic putty knife to scrape the adhesive off. I was lucky that this also came off in big chunks most of the time as well. Then I used a sponge and water to wipe down the walls. Here is my bathroom project so far:

Tuesday morning I had a short meeting at work with the head of media services and someone from the technology department. The elementary music teachers are getting digital textbooks. We already have a projector and document camera on a cart, but we are looking to get them linked to our computers and the projector installed on the ceiling. I am excited about all of the possibilities with my new "toys" and love the idea of not having to use physical textbooks anymore.

Just imagine a projector from the ceiling, a big pull down screen in front of the board, a document camera off to the side by my desk, and no students messing around with textbooks while I'm teaching a lesson!

Tuesday night into the early hours of Wednesday morning was spent not sleeping, but staying up due to an asthma attack. I took my inhaler, but couldn't get to sleep until after 1:00 am. I wanted to wog on Wednesday morning, but it didn't work out. I slept in until after 9:00 am, and by that time it was already in the high 80's and too hot for me to wog. I am determined to get all my week five wogs in before Sunday if I can though.

Much of Wednesday was spent shopping around and trying to find a tub surround. They are more expensive than you would think for pieces of plastic!  I went to Lowe's, Menard's, and the Home Depot. I ended up finding one on sale at the Home Depot for $67. It was originally $199, so it was a higher quality one than what I expected to be able to afford.

I also had a couple of groceries to get, so I stopped by Meijer. I happened to stumble upon a brushed nickel curved shower rod that doesn't involve inserting screws into the walls.

As far as the food has been concerned, I have been doing much better this week. Not perfectly on plan though. It might take some time to adjust myself back on plan though. Here are some eats from earlier this week:

I found these sweet potato chips at the Dollar Tree of all places. They are made with sea salt and are really yummy. I'll have to see if I can find bigger bags at a grocery store.

Andrew made this meal on the grill- BBQ split chicken breasts and potatoes and onions in the foil packets.
