Some C25K Talk

I've been kind of lazy recently with not only the posting, but getting things done in general. I was hoping to have more done by this point in my summer break. By all means, I should be halfway to my goal for August, but all I've done is gain weight. I was going to do all of these DIY projects around the house, but I've only done a few small ones. Today I'm just going to get up and do what I need to do without so much thinking or planning. Just do and the rest will fall into place.

One thing that I have been doing well at this summer is my C25K training. I've followed the plan exactly as it says and have never skipped a workout or fallen behind. Here are my recent stats:

Saturday's stats:
  • 4,446 aerobic steps
  • 34 minutes
  • 1.84 miles
Monday's stats:
  • 4,128 aerobic steps
  • 32 minutes
  • 1.75 miles
The play list for Monday's wog:
  • With or Without You - U2 (5 minute warm-up walk)
  • Cold Turkey- John Lennon (5 minute jog)
  • So Happy Together- The Turtles (3 minute walk)
  • Cherub Rock- Smashing Pumpkins (5 minute jog)
  • Pretty Woman- Roy Orbison (3 minute walk)
  • Good Lovin'- the Grateful Dead version (5 minute jog)
  • Touch and Go- The Cars (5 minute cool-down walk)
The next workout (week five day two) consists of two eight minute jogs and one five minute walk (not including my warm-up and cool-down walks). And week five day three I'm supposed to warm-up walk for five minutes and jog for a whole 20 minutes without stopping! I don't know if I can do it, but I will be trying my hardest. I might do some faster jogging and some slower, almost fast walking jogging to get through it.

I've been annoyed by my shorts riding up as I run, and I've finally found something to help with this problem. I found a pair of longer, tighter shorts to wear underneath my shorter shorts. I ended up finding two pairs I liked, but only kept one.

These are Champion and from Target. They were $19 which is part of the reason why I picked them. They also don't make an annoying "swishing" sound with every step I take either.

These I found at Kohl's on sale for $24 (originally $34). I liked everything except the price compared to the Target ones and the annoying "swishing" sound they make with every step.

I know it might not look the best, but the shorts really do help. When these workout clothes get too big I'll remember to buy stuff that looks better with black. I couldn't find anything in my price range except for black shorts to go under my regular shorts.

I also thought I'd never say this, but I think I might actually be interesting in participating in a 5K next summer if I keep up with the jogging thing. I saw an advertisement on the side of my Facebook page (which I usually never look at, must less click on) for the Terrapin 5K. It is a 5K in Chicago complete with a music festival (more info click here).  For you non music peeps, Terrapin Station is a Grateful Dead album that also has a song with that name on it.   1. Just be mindful of the heat--it won't do to hurt yourself with heat injury!

    1. Thanks! I always wog before 9:00 am to avoid the heat. There have been a couple of times I have to delay a wog due to the heat, but I just wait for a cooler day to do them since I only need to do this three times a week.
