A Good Tuesday

Tuesday started off with an Egg McMuffin and driving to meet my sister to do some shopping.

I had a banana instead of a hash brown.

She is getting a new place that has to be gutted down to the studs, so she was pricing what she could find at Bailey's.

Here's something that I usually don't drive by- a sunflower field.

Another thing I don't see as often is mint.

My final destination.

Although I wasn't shopping for myself, I did find a couple of good deals including some cheap batteries I'm going to keep on hand for work, a big bottle of dish soap for $1.99, and a big bottle of clear store brand Softsoap for $1.99. My fun find was a shower curtain rod. I had already bought one that was curved, but this one has details that exactly match my towel bar, hand towel holder, robe hook, and toilet paper holder.

We also went to a flooring store, but didn't find any great bargains.

We then went to a furniture store that was liquidating their inventory to see if we could find a sofa (which there were a few okay ones, but didn't buy anything). After all of this shopping we were hungry, so we went to Subway. I got my usual turkey on wheat with lettuce, tomatoes, provolone cheese, onions, green peppers, and honey mustard. I was a good girl and passed on the raspberry cheesecake cookies that I love.

After lunch we went to the Family Dollar and Alco. I was expecting to find a few things that grabbed my attention, but I didn't. Then it was off to home to work on the bathroom again. Here are some pictures of the sights on the way home:

I just love driving down roads with trees draping over them. I don't know why but I do.

I spent my afternoon mostly using a palm sander to try to get this horrible latex paint smoothed out. It kept coming off in globs and messing up my sandpaper. I sure hope that all of the walls aren't this difficult to sand.

There are some tight spaces, so I had to use the old fashioned way as well.

My dogs were also busy this afternoon...

I stopped for a snack and decided to try an oatmeal breakfast cookie I saw on a blog. It was pretty good, but mine didn't look quite like the pictures on the blog I found it.

My hubby helped me cook up some yummy chicken for dinner. It wasn't too hard at all and we just cooked up the chicken in the wok with seasoned salt, pepper, bay leaves, thyme, and rosemary. I had a bag salad and a 90 second rice pack, so I added those as my sides.

It was such a nice evening outside that the hubs and I went on a short bike ride after watering all of our fruit/veggie plants. It was a good way to end the day. Almost all healthy eating and lots of walking and a bike ride is a nice change of pace from the usual days I've been having.
